What do you expect from a $800 laptop?
There are many good laptops available for $800, and they are divided into 3 categories: general-purpose laptops for the mass market that are light and thin, mid-market laptops for gaming, and commercial laptops for the lower segment.
3 types of laptops for $800
Excellent Universal Notebook
For $800 you’ll find beautiful ultra-thin laptops with high-quality frames that are durable and resistant. They are completely made of metal and do not have to bend when held in a corner. They will be light to carry and fast enough to get you through all your tough multitasking tasks.
Medium segment playbooks
On the other hand, you’ve got $800 worth of game laptops. While they are of good manufacturing quality, notebook manufacturers often have to compromise on one or two points at this price. The reason is that the players need more power, so the manufacturers have to save somewhere. Don’t get me wrong, a laptop has to be of very good quality, but they can affect thea bit on the quality of the screen, the sound system or the metal housing. That’s why they’re calledplaybooks in the mid-range – or, if you’re a fanatic gamer, this will be an entry-level playbook for you.
Lower corporate books
For $800, you can also start seeing how business laptops are made. These laptops are robust, insensitive to drops and leaks, making them more expensive to produce. So for this price you don’t get the best parts, but always a good quality and durable laptop.
Design and general quality
All the $800 laptops I have chosen are of very good quality. You take the time test
However, the appearance and quality also depend on the properties of the laptop. With most laptops, you can expect them to look good in a sturdy, often metal case.
If you go for more powerful laptops, manufacturers have to sacrifice something. And you usually get a plastic laptop. This doesn’t mean it won’t be difficult, but of course a metal housing is preferable to a plastic one.
Screen quality
If you pay around $800 per laptop, you can get a large, high-resolution screen that is bright and displays exactly. There will no longer be a dull screen with the same colors. You get vibrant colors from all angles.
The best have an Ultra-HD display – sometimes called QHD or 4K – and the others have an HD display. Never choose anything below HD resolution (1920 x 1080) for this price!
Noise
The sound system of the best laptops up to $800 should be clean andloud. There should be little distortion at high volume and the sound should fill a medium sized room with a fairly good sound quality. If the best multimedia laptops offer the best sound, they should meet the needs of most users.
Keyboard and touchpad
While budget notebooks are often equipped with a soft keyboard and a less sensitive touchpad, here you have a keyboard where you can comfortably type for a few hours.
Now that we’ve looked at the most important features you can get, let’s take a look at laptops under $800!

Top 12 Best Laptops at $800
1 – Microsoft Surface Laptop – 13″ QHD
High quality and beautiful 13 inch
When Microsoft launched its Surface laptop, I wondered why they wanted to enter this highly competitive market. Now I understand… They have succeeded in producing a high-quality, well-designed product that is competitive in the mid-range market.
This is an ultra-thin, lightweight laptop with one of the best screens you can find. Add to that superior performance and a great keyboard, and you have another really great product from Microsoft. And it’s available in 4 different colours if you want something different from the classic grey.

2 – Asus VivoBook S15 S512FL – 15″ HD
Light and efficient
I’ve always loved the vivobook series. Asus has always delivered quality laptops that are at the top of the market. This new S15 is no different.
Not only will you get a good colour choice, but you’ll also get a laptop that’s even lighter than the previous version – for less than 4 pounds for a 15 what I call an ultra-portable laptop!
The keyboard is very convenient and the touchpad has an innovative display, which also serves as a second screen for use as a numeric keyboard, calculator or to control applications. Previously it was only available for Asus high-end devices, but now it is also used in this series.
Add to that the NVIDIA MX250 gives you a computer powerful enough to play the latest games, and you get a great laptop that offers multi-functionality.

3 – Acer Swift 5 – 14″ HD
Incredibly light and elegant
You won’t realize how incredibly light and thin the Acer Swift 5 is until you hold it in your hands. And how handsome he is… It really stands out from the rest of the competition. It’s the perfect ultra-thin notebook, even with a large, bright 14-inch screen. You don’t have to sacrifice anything here… The drums last longer and the sound is a bit louder, but I can’t criticize Aser on this size. For a laptop worth less than $800, Acer really did make a technical masterpiece. Read our complete overview.

4 – Asus Zenbook UX431FA – 14″ HD
Class above average price
Asus did something completely different. Although the Zenbook series is generally sold at higher prices, they have produced one that competes with the average laptop. So you get a luxury laptop that looks beautiful, at a lower price than his brothers and sisters. I’ve always liked the Zenbook series, and this is no different!
In order to sell it at a lower price than other Zen books, Asus of course made a few small compromises. You always get a sturdy metal suitcase that looks rich. You still get great sound that works better than most. And you always get an ultra-light 14-inch that’s easy to take with you. Where they saved some – on the screen and on the battery. They have a slightly more boring screen and incredible battery life than the others, but I still think it’s a small price to pay for a high quality laptop!

5 – Dell G3 15 3579 – 15″ HD
Not portable, but suitable for games
If a laptop is not your priority, but you want a laptop that doesn’t lag behind processing high quality 3D graphics, then this $800 gaming laptop is a great choice!
Dell made a small donation for the screen – it’s a little duller than I’d like – and it’s powered by batteries, like most manufacturers, but they also built in a pretty powerful and well-made laptop. With the GTX 1050 you can be sure that it performs much better than most of its competitors.

Another nice ultrathin laptop that makes your head spin. HP Envy 13 is a small, ultra-portable computer with a beautiful 13.3 Ultra-HD screen and a sleek, elegant design. The performance is good and the sound is one of the best among all laptops worth less than $800. 8 – Lenovo Ideapad 710S – 13″ HD
Beautiful ultrafine
Once you get your hands on the Lenovo Ideapad 710s, you’ll understand why it’s one of the best $800 laptops around! You can feel that the smooth silver casing is made of high quality metal, and I really like the design. Ultra-thin and lightweight, it really is the ideal size for a student or traveler. Whether it’s sound, keyboard or battery life, Lenovo has made really few compromises with the Ideapad 710. Read our complete overview.

9 – Acer Spin 5 – 13″ HDConvertible Trailer
Good 13-inch Hybrid
Acer Spin 5 is a good 13-inch laptop for the middle class. Acer has done a good job and produced a lightweight, high quality laptop that is very competitive. The display is bright and clear, the design is robust and the keyboard is comfortable enough to write for hours. If you are looking for a nice 13-inch convertible, this is a good choice.

10 – HP 17-X115dx – 17″ HD
17 inch with good display andaudio
If you’re looking for a $800 17-inch laptop with a great screen, this HP is probably your best choice. Don’t buy it if you’re going to wear it often, because 7.3 pounds is heavy. But for a laptop, which is usually in your office, you get a lot of real estate on screen in a powerful computer. If you add that to a good sound system, you get one of the best 17-inch values on the market.

11 – Dell Inspiron i5577 – 15″ HD
Equipped for tough competitions
The Dell Inspiron i5577 isn’t perfect – the screen can be brighter and the speakers more powerful – but for a gaming laptop under $800, it’s hard to get a better price. The display has an anti-glare coating that is ideal for use in light environments, the battery life is long enough for this type of laptop, and the performance is good enough to play most games and of course to run all the applications you need. Talk about performance: With an i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a GeForce 1050 graphics card, he needs almost everything you give him. It’s definitely one of the best $800 laptops you can play with.

12 – Asus Vivobook K550 – 15″ HD
Household book
Asus K550 is a high-end gaming laptop that will not blow up the bank. If you are looking for an affordable notebook for your gaming needs, this notebook is a good choice with enough power to run most games on i7 and the NVIDIA GT 950M. It’s not the most powerful, but it’s more than enough for any player. To sell it for this price, Asus had to sacrifice a little on the display and the sound quality, but not so much to hurt him. They have a balanced price and quality.
