First selection: The Xbox One router at a glance
More information about the routers below. The links above will take you directly to prices and customer reviews at Amazon.
So you’ve got a new Xbox One. Or maybe you’re still playing games on Xbox 360 – it’s still cool, you won’t be judged!
You play online games with your friends, people who love you, people who hate you, and a lot of strangers… who probably hate you too, Lol.
Of course, as we all know, a good, reliable and robust internet connection is very important for online gambling. And not just for the games… People also use their consoles to watch television, movies, demonstrations, etc. Here, too, the internet connection is becoming increasingly important.
How to reduce Xbox Packet Loss
So you’ve probably done your homework and searched for the best ISP for the best connection, and I hope you subscribe to the best… which is great.
For better fluidity of the games and streaming, however, the material is usually forgotten. Yeah, is a good oldrouter.
Every router is different. Some can handle more than others. Some have more possibilities than others. Some process packages (traffic) are faster and more efficient – latency and jitter are reduced (very good!).
So what’s the best router for Xbox One? What is the best router to give you an advantage when playing online games? Let’s start with Knightawk…
Best router for Xbox One
1. Original Non-Woven Falcon R7000
>> Go to Amazon <<
The best universal router for most people is probably the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 router. This is the original Nighthawk router and it is still as powerful as ever.
Players have fewer problems with limited NAT, even if more than 2 console users use the same router.

Router Features to consider for Xbox One
Try the cables!
If possible, try to connect to the router using Ethernet cables. Yeah, it’s so convenient to use Wi-Fi. But unfortunately, Wi-Fi can be subject to interference that can affect your connection and, of course, your games. The last thing we want is for a alien to kill you in Call of Duty, even if you pull the trigger first!
If you really can’t connect Xbox One to a router with an Ethernet cable, you should consider using a powerline adapter. You use the wiring in your house. Plug one adapter into a power outlet near your router and the other into a power outlet near Xbox One, then use Ethernet cables.
Powerline can be better thanwireless, depending on your router and/or the distance between your console and your router (the less Wi-Fi signal, the less good).
Quality of service
Also abbreviated to QoS (Quality of Service), the quality of service is crucial, especially if you share your router with others.
QoS is a function of your router that limits or prioritizes certain types of traffic and/or users. If you do this effectively, you can ensure that your Xbox network traffic is protected from other users on your network who may inadvertently disrupt your gaming experience.
If someone downloads or plays torrents at home, sends movies or just updates their virus protection, all available bandwidth can be used. That’s not cool.
With a few quick and easy manipulations of the QoS settings, your world will be much smoother.
Routers are equipped with their own brand of firmware. It may be enough and it gives you plenty of options and features to work with, but to have ALL tools at your disposal, DD-WRT is the answer – or something like that… like tomato.
But installing the free firmware DD-WRT or Tomato can offer much more features than what’s in the box.
You can configure advanced settings for QoS, uPnP, antenna power and more.
Remember, it’s free, and even if you’re a complete technophobic, with a little time for a good installation, your network will sink much more …
Make sure your router has uPnP features. Most routers have this feature (and even if they don’t, a firmware update – see above – makes it possible).
uPnP allows your Xbox One to communicate with Xbox Live servers over the Internet with a limited number of restrictions. It’s about the NAT…
Open NAT (port forwarding)
In combination with uPnP you can redirect Xbox Live traffic via port forwarding to the Xbox One console. This means that you can participate in many of your favorite online games and not get fired so often!
2. Linksys WRT1900AC – The large universal
>> Go to Amazon <<
So we were watching Netgiar Knighthawk, what else can we watch?
The WRT1900AC is equipped with a DD-WRT, which is available as an option at the factory. It also has that cool retro look, probably the most famous router of all time – WRT54G, released all those years ago.
Absolutely the best router for Xbox X – money is no problem!
You have a healthy bank account and you pay the best, no matter how much? Okay, there are options for you.
3. Non-woven Falcon X10 – R9000
>> Go to Amazon <<
Netgear’s most powerful standalone consumer router (status 2017).
The Nighthawk X10 R9000 is a monster…
First, it has a cumulative wireless connection speed of up to 7.2 Gbps. So, 4.6 Gbps for the 802.11ad group operating at 60 MHz. From now on, you won’t use it for games. This device is in fact designed to create bridges in confined spaces or for future Ultra-HD currents close to the line of sight.
The remaining 2.6 Gbps is used for gaming (finally in the 5 Gbps to 1.7 Gbps band). Of course there are Gigabit LAN ports. You can also combine some of these connectors (for compatible devices).
There is also QoS, Quad Stream MU-MIMO and Quad Core CPU for basic operation.
Of course, a powerful router is associated with a higher price than usual. But, hey, we warned you higher up!
Read here more about what we said about X10.
4. Asus RT-AC87U AC2400 Router
>> Go to Amazon <<
The RT-AC87U is a MU-MIMO router that can be used to optimize the performance of multiple clients simultaneously (provided the clients also support MU-MIMO).
Let’s also take a look at these…
5. Mayak X6
A great router. It’s brilliant. I get it, I get it, I get it. Blah, blah… Yeah, it’s really good. It is a tri-band and is particularly suitable for networks with a large number of customers.
6. Asus RT-AC3200
Another Asus and another tri-band router. Very fast, with many functions.

Game Router for Xbox One on a Budget ?
Are you looking for something cheaper that doesn’t blow up the bank?
7. D-Link DGL-5500 Game Router
>> Go to Amazon <<
This low-budget game router from D-Link has been around for several years. Don’t let that discourage you. Okay, it doesn’t have all the latest features (e.g. deep QoS), it has basic wireless capabilities (it’s not .11ac), and only has 100 Mbps LAN ports… but it’s on the list of supported OpenWRT routers if you want to get your hands dirty and take out the firmware.
Here are some less expensive options…
8. Asus RT-N66U
Another very popular router that has been around for some time. It offers a high quality of service and is very easy to use.
9. TP-Link TD-W8970
Another 802.11n wireless router, and again dual-band. This low-cost router has many features, is robust enough in terms of performance and is very inexpensive. Does not have a DD-WRT option if it is important to you.
